Mr. Mufti Muhammad Akbar Azami serves as the Consul General of Afghanistan in Istanbul, Türkiye. In this role, he leads the Consulate General’s efforts to provide consular services and support to Afghan nationals while strengthening Afghanistan’s presence and engagement in one of the region’s key cultural and economic hubs.

Mr. Azami works to promote cooperation and goodwill between Afghanistan and Türkiye at the regional and community levels. His responsibilities include facilitating people-to-people connections, supporting trade and cultural interaction, and ensuring the welfare of the Afghan community in Türkiye.
